The Lumey Manifesto
The Architecture of Light
As an Engineer and PhD in Risk Management, my job was to anticipate failure, secure the structure, and contain the unexpected. I evolved in men's worlds where femininity was a variable to be erased, a voice to be silenced. I learned to conform to the format: smooth, predictable, well-behaved.
I spent my life calculating risks only to realize that the only risk worth taking is being oneself. The mortal danger is remaining hidden. It is leaving one's body, this living artwork marked by time and battles, in the shadow of "propriety."
LUMEY was born from this rupture.
The name is a fusion: of Lumière and Rodney, of my maternal and paternal heritage.
My anchor is a serendipity following the traces of the master of black: from my birthplace, Schoelcher in Martinique, to his first studio on Rue Schoelcher in Paris.
Like him, I work with contrast. My creations are black not to hide the woman, but to elevate her and clothe her in light.
I design my creations with the eye of an engineer, the hand of an artist, and the heart of a woman. I build tensions between absorbing Lycra and reflecting silk. I build tulle structures that are neither quite lingerie nor quite clothing. It is wearable art, made to abolish the boundary between the intimate and the public.
I refuse the myth of the cold, distant mannequin.
Here, a smile is an act of audacity.
Confidence is freedom.
My pieces are made for those who, like me, have come to understand that their imperfections are their signature. For those who no longer want to choose between protecting themselves and exposing themselves.
Do not hide anymore.
Do not wait for permission to exist.
Take the risk of being dazzling.
LUMEY, reveal the masterpiece you are.

FRENCH SAVOIR-FAIRE & ETHICS
At LUMEY, quality is a matter of precision.
We uphold the rigorous standards of French savoir-faire, designing in Paris and crafting exclusively in France.
We select our materials, sourced from France and Europe, not just for their touch, but for their ability to sculpt light.
From the structural sketch to the final finish, nothing is random. We champion a 'slow luxury' approach: sustainable, exacting and designed to last.
